Homeland Security Open Source Solution (HSOSS)
ISVG has partnered with i2 to bring our data on violent extremist organizations to the workstations of government and private sector analysts. Our Relational Database has been integrated into an iBase with Intellishare that is regularly updated by more than 100 data collectors. With the HSOSS, analysts can instantly integrate open source information into their analytical workflows on violent extremist organizations.

Relational Database (RDB)
Our core mission is aggregating, coding, and analyzing data on violent extremist organizations. We’ve built the largest and most comprehensive database on violent extremism and maintain it in real-time. Using industry standard technologies, the ISVG RDB can integrate real-time, human curated open source data into your organization’s systems. All our data is open source and 100% transparent, allowing analysts to review and vet the source of every datapoint. Check out our slideshows for detailed descriptions about our data collection processes, database, and sources.

Violent Extremism Knowledge Base (VKB)
VKB is the newest resource for organizing research on violent extremist organizations. Review the most comprehensive profiles on hundreds of violent extremist organizations and their activities. The VKB tracks violent extremist organizations in real-time and is supported by a dedicated research staff to maintain and expand these profiles. ISVG is developing web-based tools to allow users to analyze trends in extremist violence. We have released a beta version of one tool – DAVE – which allows users to build a custom query and visualize the results spatially and temporally. Be sure to sign up for our mailing list or follow our blog for updates on new content and future releases of our web-based tools.

Open Source Research Laboratory
ISVG collaborates with several universities to provide open source research and analysis on special topics. Our largest collaboration to date has been with the Open Source Research Laboratory (OSRL) at the University of Texas at El Paso. OSRL tracks transnational threats as reported in Spanish-language media outlets from Mexico and Latin America using the ISVG data collection methodology. Spanish-language open sources are translated into English and entered into the ISVG RDB for analysis and visualization.
